Azerbaijani Soldiers Threatened Shepherds with Weapons, but They were Armed and Defended Themselves, Says Community Leader
On the previous day, Azerbaijani soldiers threatened Armenian shepherds who had taken their livestock to graze in Armenian territories. This was stated by Nerses Shadunts, the head of the Tegh community, in an interview with Tert.am.
“Almost always, there are these threats from the Azerbaijani side, telling us not to approach our positions with the livestock, and nevertheless, our shepherds go about their work; in this situation, that is natural, and such incidents happen every day. They start threatening and yelling at a distance of 50-100 meters, asking us to take the livestock back and not let them get close,” said Nerses Shadunts.
He also added that the shepherds were armed and capable of defending themselves. “I have personally given several weapons to the head of that village so that they can defend themselves if necessary and carry out the appropriate actions. In the current situation, when a child is born, you need to keep the weapon close by,” emphasized the community leader.
