Arcadi Khachaturyan: My absence from the electoral list of 'Bright Armenia' is the result of my decision

Arcadi Khachaturyan, a member of the 'Bright Armenia' faction, has commented on his omission from the party's electoral list via his Facebook page.

He noted, "Dear friends and compatriots, taking into consideration the spread of various rumors and gossip, as well as the questions received from the media, I find it necessary to inform you that my absence from the electoral list of 'Bright Armenia' is the result of my decision, which is conditioned by my desire to return to the financial and economic field rather than continuing my activities in the Legislative body.

I want to thank my colleagues in 'Bright Armenia' for the mutual trust and collaboration. Even though I am currently non-partisan, I have always been and will remain a proponent of the ideas of 'illumination' and national unity.

I am convinced that the development of education and science should be the foundation and core of our country's future development. I believe that the most serious challenges currently faced by the Republic of Armenia, primarily the security issue, can be resolved only through our unity and solidarity.

There is no greater evil than the division of our people, the sowing of enmity, intolerance, and distrust. Don’t we understand that this is precisely what the enemy wants?

Regardless of the outcomes of the upcoming elections, my call to all political forces will be to refrain from vendettas in any circumstance, for the preservation of our statehood and the security of our people, in memory of our fallen and heroic compatriots, to rise above narrow party interests, to ensure national unity and solidarity, to create a platform for national cohesion, and to invite all professionals, knowledgeable, experienced, and visionary individuals, including from the diaspora, without 'blacks and whites'.

Defying the enemy, we will straighten our backs, we will do this together, shoulder to shoulder, with knowledge, hard work, and our unity.

After the end of the parliamentary powers, I plan to return to the professional field of finance and economics and the academic sector and continue to serve the Republic of Armenia, as I have done over the past twenty years.

I will be involved in politics only to the extent necessary for the implementation of reforms and programs directed towards our country’s economic development, ensuring inter-party and national interests.

I apologize to all the friends, supporters, and voters whom I have disappointed with this decision. I have always been honest with you, guided by my mind, conscience, principles, and the dictates of the law, putting in my knowledge, experience, and soul, and I will always serve in the interest of our country and people, for the economic development and financial stability of Armenia.
