BMW Crashes into Basalt Curb in Yerevan, Ends Up on Sidewalk and Hits Tree, Vehicle Becomes Inoperable
On May 30, a traffic accident-fire occurred in Yerevan. Around 02:00, an unidentified female driver of a BMW vehicle lost control of her car on Mashtots Avenue, in front of the Matenadaran, under unknown circumstances. The vehicle drove off the roadway, collided with a basalt curb, then moved forward, ending up on the sidewalk and crashing into a tree.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver was assisted out of the vehicle by two young men, who then transported her to the number 1 university hospital in their car. As a result of the collision, a fire broke out in the vehicle.
The police are currently trying to determine the driver’s identity. At the request of the investigator, the vehicle has been moved to a special secured area managed by the Yerevan Traffic Police.
