Car Rolls Approximately 150 Meters into Ravine: Driver Killed, Injuries Reported
Yesterday, a car rolled into a ravine along the Lisagor-Berdzor highway, approximately 150 meters down. The Police of the Artsakh Republic reported that they received an alert regarding the traffic accident at 11:15 PM.
Rescue workers from the Lisagor division of the Emergency Situations Agency, as well as officers from the Berdzor regional police department and the traffic police, led by Traffic Police Chief Mavrik Nasibyan, quickly responded to the scene along with an investigative operational group.
Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs utilized specialized rescue and technical equipment to extract the victims from the ravine. “It has been established that at around 9:30 PM on the same day, Y.M., a resident of Yerevan (born in 1961), was driving his Mercedes-Benz vehicle when he left the roadway at the 35th kilometer of the Stepanakert-Goris highway and rolled into the ravine, resulting in his death at the scene,” the statement said.
Passengers A.G. (born in 1968), also from Yerevan, and K.H. (born in 1973), a resident of the Askeran region, were transported to Stepanakert with varying degrees of bodily injuries. The Artsakh Investigative Committee is handling the investigation.
