Video: Camera Captures How the Prime Minister Prohibits Taking Azerbaijani Prisoners of War - Hohikyan
Journalist Nairi Hohikyan has released a video regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to the village of Kut in the Gegharkunik region, claiming that the camera captured the moment the prime minister forbids taking Azerbaijani prisoners of war.
“During the visit to the village of Kut on May 27, General-Major Arayik Harutyunyan, Commander of the 2nd Army Corps, reported to Nikol Pashinyan about the situation along the contact line. If you carefully watch the video broadcast live, the general asks the prime minister for permission to take the enemy’s surrounded troops as prisoners, thus compelling them to return our soldiers. The prime minister immediately turns his back to the camera and prohibits such actions. Meanwhile, the prime minister and the general are flanked by security personnel.
Separately, during a consultation, the reasons provided by Nikol Pashinyan and his officials against taking enemy soldiers as prisoners shocked both military personnel and several local officials. They claim that the enemy is a mujahid and prefers to be killed rather than captured. This is a justification for the political leadership’s cowardice,” wrote Hohikyan.
