Video: Azerbaijani Side Commits to Withdraw Part of Its Forces Amid Reservations, Vahe Hakobyan
As previously reported, Azerbaijan has advanced several kilometers in the area known as Black Lake and refuses to retreat. The Armenian side is negotiating with Russian peacekeepers to return Azerbaijani troops to their initial positions.
In an interview with Auroranews, the former governor of Syunik, Vahe Hakobyan, described the current situation in Syunik and stated that negotiations with the adversary are nearing completion.
"The Azerbaijani side has committed to withdraw part of its forces stationed in the territory of Armenia, in exchange for certain reservations; however, these reservations raise serious questions and it is unclear what they are asking for in return. For the third day now, they have taken our territories, and it seems to me they are turning our lands into a bargaining chip for positions in other areas," Hakobyan said.
