UN Urges Baku and Yerevan to De-escalate Tensions and Show Restraint

The United Nations has called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to exercise restraint and avoid escalating tensions, stated UN Secretary-General's spokesperson Stefan Dujarric during a briefing, as reported by РИА Новости.

“The UN is closely monitoring the events occurring along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. We urge all parties concerned to show restraint and avoid any actions that could exacerbate tensions,” said Dujarric.

“We also understand that negotiations are ongoing. All unresolved bilateral issues must be addressed peacefully through dialogue and diplomatic means,” he added.
