The Driver of a Fatal Hit-and-Run, Who Fled the Scene, Has Been Arrested

The investigative department of transport crimes of the Yerevan city investigative committee has arrested 25-year-old Sergey Sardarjan from Kotayk province. According to shamshyan.com, he is suspected of causing the death of 40-year-old Erik Gabrielyan in a hit-and-run incident on May 25 while driving a Nissan vehicle and subsequently fleeing the scene.

Reports indicate that he has been transferred to the detention center of the Yerevan police, while the vehicle has been seized and is currently in the custody of the Yerevan road police.

Recall that the fatal hit-and-run occurred in Yerevan on May 25 at approximately 20:40. An unidentified individual had struck pedestrian Erik Gabrielyan with a Nissan vehicle with unknown license plates in front of the house number 13/10 on Khanchyan Street. The victim was thrown into the air and collided with a Kia vehicle. Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan fled the scene of the traffic accident. Unfortunately, the injured Gabrielyan died on his way to the number 1 university hospital, having not regained consciousness.
