We Are Creating a New Political Force: Mesrop Arakelyan

Former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mesrop Arakelyan and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Artsakh Mane Tandilyan are establishing a new political force. They announced this on their Facebook page, also stating that they will not participate in the upcoming parliamentary snap elections.

The post reads: "Dear compatriots, the elections taking place due to the Artsakh war should have been a choice for a vision of the future, a choice to reconceptualize mistakes, a choice about our path and rapid reorganization. However, society is forced to choose between those who have plundered the country and those who have led it to inactivity, between political arrogance and political incompetence, without anyone taking responsibility for their share of the blame over the past 30 years, and compelling the public to 'designate' the guilty and the judges.

Amid the backdrop of forgotten Artsakh, which is not considered a constituency by anyone, a struggle is underway to maintain power at all costs, to seize power, and to find oneself in the circles of power, all presented in the name of the state and the people.

It is evident that the overwhelming majority of citizens will make a choice in an emotional atmosphere, without any expectations, having ceased to dream... In a parliamentary governance country, the parliament has turned exclusively into a platform of hatred and shows, where everyone accuses everyone, everyone judges everyone. The same will continue in the new parliament with new 'judges' and new 'defendants.'

Considering the position, including the parliamentary faction, merely as a means to serve the homeland, we are embarking on a path of genuine change in the country, not turning this election into a historical goal.

Accordingly, we inform you that we have decided not to participate in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections. We are confident that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia deserve to live in a safe and prosperous country, where dreams become goals, and goals become reality.

We will continue to unite individuals who see the transformation of thinking, knowledge, work, and dedication to the country's development as the foundation of governance, creating a team for the power of the future. Together with our political teams and like-minded individuals, we are creating a new political force that will restore the lost hope and faith of Armenia and Armenians, redefining what has happened and restoring national dignity with a commitment to making Armenia a place to live."
