Vagharshak Harutyunyan to Visit Moscow: Pashinyan
The acting Minister of Defense, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, is set to travel to Moscow in the near future. This was announced by the acting Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly.
One of the topics for discussion in the Russian capital will be the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions.
"I think we need to get answers to several questions. And we should continue to deepen our cooperation with the CSTO and our ally, Russia," said Pashinyan.
It is worth noting that since May 12, when Azerbaijani forces advanced several kilometers into the territory of Armenia in the Gegharkunik and Syunik areas, several negotiations have taken place with the mediation of the Russian side. The enemy has retreated from some areas, but is not in a hurry to completely withdraw from the sovereign territory of Armenia.
Armenia has appealed to the CSTO and has requested military assistance from Russia. The military-political leadership has stated that it wants to resolve the issue peacefully but is prepared for a forceful option if negotiations do not yield results.
