Tigran Avinyan and Arsen Torosyan Meet with Rectors and Try to Convince Them
According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and the head of the Armenian government staff Arsen Torosyan are holding meetings with rectors from various universities in Armenia.
Informed sources have reported that Avinyan and Torosyan are meeting with rectors individually and are asking them to support them during the early parliamentary elections set for June 20, either by working to bring in votes or at least by demonstrating neutrality and not supporting any political forces.
According to our sources, there have been rectors who have rejected the invitation to meet with Avinyan and Torosyan, stating that they have no desire to discuss matters with them. Meanwhile, some rectors have excluded the possibility of compromising, making it clear that they will not be pressured into aligning with any party.
The rectors emphasized that they have repeatedly spoken about the government's resignation and maintain that perspective. This suggests that two prominent figures in the government are engaged in convincing various officials and exerting pressure to secure votes for their party.
