Hayk Sargsyan Appears in Court with Final Statement

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided by Judge Anna Danibekyan, has retreated to the consultation room to deliver a verdict in the case of Hayk Sargsyan, nephew of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

According to 'Factinfo,' during today’s court session, Hayk Sargsyan delivered his final statement, asking the court for a fair decision, after which the court withdrew to the consultation room to reach a verdict.

It is noteworthy that Hayk Sargsyan is charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms under Articles 34-104, Part 1 and 235, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. According to the charges, on April 1, 2007, at around 4:00 PM, in the basement of his apartment located at 14 Tumanyan Street in Yerevan, he allegedly fired a SIG Sauer model P266 pistol at Davit Simonyan’s abdomen with the intent to unlawfully take his life, but the crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond his control.
