An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan on May 25. Around 23:00, the police received a call from Armenia Medical Center reporting that a citizen had been admitted with a "stab wound to the front wall of the chest." Thirty minutes later, another call came from the same medical center indicating that yet another citizen had been admitted with a "stab wound to the first finger of the left wrist."
According to shamshyan.com, an operational group from the police department arrived at the hospital, led by the head of the Mashtots division, Andranik Shahbazyan. The police found that the victims were 25-year-old Harutyun Dolmazyan and 30-year-old Arthur Andrayan, both residents of Yerevan. They were transported from an apartment at the 5th building of 2nd Passage of Fuchik.
It was revealed that the resident of the mentioned apartment, 61-year-old Gayane S., had called the Mashtots police and reported her son, 33-year-old Gagik G., displaying aggressive behavior. Consequently, A. Andrayan and H. Dolmazyan arrived at the address to clarify the situation. At that moment, Gagik G., exhibiting erratic behavior, attacked Dolmazyan with a 20 cm knife, inflicting wounds on his hand and chest. When Andrayan attempted to intervene to subdue Gagik G., he was also wounded.
The Emergency Situations Ministry's rescue service personnel arrived at the scene and were able to take Gagik G. to the National Center for Mental Health in conjunction with the police.
Materials are being prepared by the investigative division of the Mashtots police regarding the incident.
