Another Performance Takes Place: 'The CSTO is to Blame for the Chaos at the Border' - Minasian

Former Armenian Ambassador to the Holy See Mikhail Minasian made a post today on his Telegram channel, commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's speech in the National Assembly, where he stated that he is dissatisfied with the speed of the CSTO's actions.

Minasian's post reads as follows: "Nikol has fed the public the thesis that the former leaders are to blame for the defeat. His sect members, groaning, have swallowed this idea, while others have not. I see nothing surprising in this; we have often witnessed how Nikol's supporters resort to the most absurd justifications.

But at this very moment, another performance is taking place titled 'The CSTO is to Blame for the Chaos at the Border.' For any reasonable person, this action evokes a smile.

It is no longer possible to blame the former leaders for the fact that, after seven months since the end of the war, Armenia's border has not been armed, the former leaders did not sign a capitulation, and they do not know what borders Nikol promised to Aliyev. Nikol should have built the border, and in response to a question from a deputy who left his faction, he stated that the border is indeed being constructed, and that the public, and also this deputy, should not be aware of the border construction process.

When it became clear that the border was poorly constructed, Azerbaijani troops are located in Armenia’s sovereign territory, killing Armenian servicemen, Nikol decided to blame the CSTO. But we all remember that it was Nikol who became the leader of Armenia that insulted the CSTO from the very beginning of his tenure by accusing Yuri Khachaturov, who was then the Secretary General of that organization.

Nikol was the one who did not allow Stanislav Zas to take over the position of CSTO Secretary General until the already dismissed Yuri Khachaturov's term expired.

It is not surprising that to justify his criminal inaction, Nikol has, as usual, switched to madness. Among other absurdities he expressed today, he said he is not planning to declare martial law. For months, Nikol did not remove martial law, hoping to use it to silence the adversaries, but now, when Azerbaijani troops are advancing daily in Armenia’s sovereign territory and killing Armenian servicemen, he does not plan to impose martial law, yet he is also unable to resolve this issue. Martial law will only be implemented if Nikol realizes the elections are not favorable for him and that they should be canceled.

This would be laughable if we were not losing our homeland as a result of this farce. One could laugh at it if there weren’t human casualties and shattered lives involved.
