VIDEO: If Tavush Villages Fall to Azerbaijan, the Road from Yerevan to Berd Will Pass Through Enemy Territory, Naira Zohrabyan
Today, we note that since May 12, according to various estimates, up to 1000 Azerbaijani soldiers are located on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, establishing positions and fortifying themselves, with no intention of leaving. The Ministry of Defense confirmed today that negotiations have not been ongoing for more than 6 days, and some parliamentarians are stating that certain villages in Tavush belong to Soviet Azerbaijan. This was said today in the National Assembly by MP Naira Zohrabyan.
“When we spoke about the threat to Armenia's sovereign territory, unclear statements were being circulated about agents of Azerbaijani influence, and the NSS was making statements with terrifying threats, the same NSS that I do not know if it fulfilled the assignment to look for demons or not,” said Zohrabyan.
She noted that as representatives of the authorities say, if certain villages belong to Soviet Azerbaijan, then we will also see Azerbaijani flags in those same areas. “If the territories of Tavush pass to Azerbaijan, we will have Azerbaijani Armed Forces and Azerbaijani control on the interstate highway connecting Armenia, Georgia, and Russia,” she stated, adding that even today we face difficulties maintaining the borders of Syunik and Gegharkunik, and it is simply unacceptable to extend the borders of Armenia.
According to her, if the villages of Azatamut, Kayaran, and Aygehovit pass into Azerbaijani territory, then the road from Yerevan to Berd will also pass through Azerbaijani territory. “If suddenly Tigranashen passes to Azerbaijan, then a part of the interstate highway from Yerevan to Syunik, Artsakh, and Iran will be under Azerbaijani control,” she warned.
