Response of the CSTO Regarding the Incident at the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Today
On May 25, a meeting was held at the CSTO Joint Headquarters involving representatives from the defense and security committees of member states. This information was reported by the organization’s press service.
During the meeting, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov presented a report assessing the military-political situation in the CSTO's area of responsibility and informed about challenges and prospects for military cooperation.
In this context, he referred to Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing that the situation in the conflict zone has generally stabilized. However, the recent escalation registered at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demands urgent measures, primarily of a political and diplomatic nature, along with solutions to the delimitation and demarcation issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
