Kyrgyzstan Closes Border with Tajikistan
Kyrgyzstan has closed its border with Tajikistan and restricted the movement of citizens of the neighboring republic within its territory. This was reported by EADaily news outlet, referencing the Kyrgyz State Border Service.
The ban on border crossings does not apply to diplomats and their families. Kyrgyz citizens can still cross the border and return home from Tajikistan.
It is noteworthy that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have been unable to resolve disputes over border territories for many years. As a result, clashes periodically occur at the border, and just a month ago, a two-day war broke out, resulting in significant losses on both sides. Currently, both parties are seeking to resolve existing conflicts peacefully, with active support from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
