Edmon Marukyan: 'There is already talk that there will be electoral bribery'
“One of the promises of the revolution was that business and politics should be separated, and that interests should not enter parliament,” said Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia party, during a conversation with journalists today regarding the inclusion of Khachatur Sukiasyan and Gurgen Arsenyan in the electoral list of the Civil Contract party.
“If businessmen are brought back to parliament again, it will be a betrayal of another promise of the revolution and a setback from the remnants of gains, because whatever gains there have been since the revolution, there are now only remnants left,” Marukyan noted.
“There is already talk that there will be electoral bribery,” the leader of the Bright Armenia party announced.
When asked which political force is involved, Marukyan said, “From different sides... People are already talking about giving money.”
According to Marukyan, the government can always distribute bribery because it has influence over businessmen and those forces that have unlimited resources.
