Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan Meets with Ambassadors of CSTO Member States

On May 25, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazyan received the ambassadors of the CSTO member states accredited in Armenia: Sergey Kopirkin (Russia), Alexander Konyukin (Belarus), and Bolat Imankulov (Kazakhstan).

The meeting focused on the illegal military incursion of Azerbaijani armed forces into certain border regions of Armenia since May 12, which resulted in the fatal shooting of an Armenian serviceman on May 25.

The head of Armenia's foreign policy agency noted that by ignoring and disrespecting the calls of the international community, Azerbaijan not only fails to withdraw its armed forces from Armenian territory but also resorts to new illegal actions against a CSTO member state.

Ara Aivazyan stated that the lack of adequate assessment and response from the international community, particularly the CSTO and its member states, to the lethal actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces would lead to further escalation of the situation, which could have dire consequences for regional security and stability.
