Tornado Causes Destruction in Akunk Village of Kotayk Province
Today, an emergency situation has unfolded in Kotayk Province. Around 17:00, residents of Akunk village witnessed the tornado wreaking havoc in the area, reports Shamshyan.com.
Several houses on 4th Street in Akunk have found themselves at the epicenter of the disaster. Stone walls have completely collapsed, with lengths ranging from a minimum of 50 meters to a maximum of 100-150 meters in various sections. A large number of trees have been uprooted, including fruitful trees such as apricot, apple, pear, and cherry.
The tornado also damaged private homes, tearing off roof sheets which were flung across distances of 10 to 30 meters or more in some areas. More than ten electricity poles have been completely toppled, leading to power outages in various parts of the village.
