Minister of Defense of Armenia and CSTO Secretary General Discuss Situation at Armenia-Azerbaijan Border
On May 24, a phone conversation took place between the Acting Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, and the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Stanislav Zas.
Vagharshak Harutyunyan presented the situation that has arisen at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border due to Azerbaijani provocations and recent developments in this context. The head of the Armenian defense ministry reiterated that any encroachments upon the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia are absolutely intolerable and emphasized the importance of an active role of the CSTO in resolving the issue.
Stanislav Zas assured that the CSTO is closely monitoring the developments regarding the situation and that the organization is taking necessary steps to peacefully resolve the issue.
