Goris Police Uncover Illegal Forestry Cases

On May 20 and 21, the community and patrol service officers of the Goris division of the Police uncovered cases of illegal tree cutting. They moved four vehicles of various brands, including a truck, from protected special areas in different sectors of the division's servicing territory.

According to the public relations and information department of the RA Police, the vehicles were loaded with more than 10 cubic meters of timber. The drivers did not present documents verifying the legality of the cargo. It was revealed that they had obtained the timber from various locations in the Syunik province. Professional examinations were ordered, and the circumstances are being clarified.
