27-Year-Old Man Inflicts Multiple Stab Wounds on 67-Year-Old Woman in Ararat Province

On May 24, an attempted murder occurred in Ararat Province. Around 07:20, the Artashat Medical Center reported to the Artashat police department that a woman had been admitted with “multiple stab and cut wounds to various parts of the body,” according to shamshyan.com.

When police arrived at the hospital, doctors informed them that the victim was in the operating room, in extremely critical condition and unable to provide explanations about the incident.

According to operational data, the police identified the injured woman as 67-year-old Anahit H., a resident of Artashat. While doctors were fighting for her life, the criminal investigation and detective departments of the Artashat police determined that on the same day, around 06:30, Anahit H. had an argument with 27-year-old Ashot H., a resident of Artashat, who assaulted her with a kitchen knife inflicting multiple stab wounds to her body.

Police quickly located the suspect, Ashot H., on Yerevan Street in Artashat and took him into custody. The knife used in the crime was also recovered.

According to information from the site, Anahit H. and Ashot H. are relatives.
