Emergency Situation: A Storm in Ararat Province Rips Roofs Off Houses and Topples Power Poles and Large Trees

Today, May 22, an emergency situation has arisen in Ararat Province. Between 14:00 and 14:30, a storm in the village of Khachpar tore roofs off houses, toppled power poles, and broke large trees.

According to shamshyan.com, village mayor Shahen Martirosyan is currently documenting the damages house by house and recording the details of affected villagers, which will be sent to the Ararat regional administration. Due to the downed power poles, the village has been left without electricity.

Representatives from the 'Araks' branch of the Electricity Networks of Armenia have arrived in the village and are already working with several brigades to replace the fallen poles with new ones, aiming to restore electricity supply within hours.

The storm has also caused damage in the village cemeteries, breaking the pavilions designated for the deceased.
