Criminal Case Initiated Following Accident on Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan Highway

On May 21, 2021, around 03:00, two vehicles, a 'VAZ 21723-110-01' and a 'ZIL MMZ-554M', collided on the 65th km of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway. As a result of the accident, the driver and a passenger of the 'VAZ 21723-110-01' vehicle were fatally injured.

On the same day, the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province initiated a criminal case in the Sevan investigative division under Part 3 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which pertains to violations of the requirements for road traffic safety or the rules of road traffic and operation of vehicles.

A series of investigative and procedural actions have been conducted, including the examination of the accident site and the vehicles involved. Forensic medical, forensic chemical, and forensic automotive examinations have been appointed.
