Iran's Military Assistance Refused, Generals Sent Back - 'HRAPARAK'

‘HRAPARAK’ reports: “Media outlets have written that about 10 high-ranking military officials have arrived in Yerevan from Tehran. Most likely, the arrival of the generals in Yerevan is connected to the escalating tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

This visit is unprecedented in that Iranian high-ranking officials have never visited another country with such a large delegation. Subsequently, photos circulated on social media showing how Iran is transporting heavy military equipment to the border.

But do you know why the Iranian generals came? I will tell you, they came to offer our beloved Prime Minister military assistance, specifically to propose sending equipment and deploying Iranian troops along the entire length of the border in Syunik. Iran is extremely concerned about the growing influence of Azerbaijan and Turkey and is prepared to do whatever it takes to prevent Armenia from losing territory, fully understanding that otherwise, it will be left alone against NATO and foresees a large-scale war in the region.

This was not the only such proposal; our sources say that on October 11 of last year (during the hottest days of the war), a high-ranking Iranian diplomat was able to arrange a meeting with the Prime Minister with great difficulty and conveyed only one proposal on behalf of Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The proposal was to use Iran's air defense systems to close off airspace over the Khudafareh reservoir area, thus providing the opportunity to break the course of the war. At that time, the Prime Minister rejected the proposal, stating that Iran was under U.S. sanctions and accepting such assistance would negatively impact Armenia-U.S. relations. Can you imagine the extent of fear from the U.S., that on account of the lives of our boys they decided to ‘not ruin the relationship’?

And what was the response given to the Iranian generals today, you may ask? The answer was, ‘we don’t see the practicality in your proposal.’ And the most interesting part is that Iran's troops are not allowed to enter, and our troops aren’t being sent to the border. I genuinely don’t understand what this person is hoping for. Either he is truly a traitor, or he is a complete fool.”
