A Significant Number of Azerbaijani Soldiers are in Armenian Territory, Approximately 500-600. Pashinyan
During the government meeting today, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border:
“The operational situation has not changed; it remains tense, and a considerable number of Azerbaijani soldiers are still in Armenian territory, approximately 500-600,” he said.
Pashinyan noted that the logic of the actions of our armed forces is to tactically limit the potential of Azerbaijani operations. “Politically, our task is to prevent the situation from going out of control and to maximize the possibility of excluding any scenario of war or military confrontation, aiming for the departure of Azerbaijani armed forces representatives from Armenian territory,” he stated.
The acting Prime Minister mentioned that significant diplomatic work has been done and continues. According to Pashinyan, the diplomatic struggle at this point is considered effective; he noted that not only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is engaged in this direction but also the Ministry of Defense and the Deputy Prime Ministers.
“I consider it successful because the positions of our international partners and Armenia are the same, namely that representatives of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces must leave Armenian territory; this is a fact that has been recorded at the working level,” said Pashinyan.
