Yerevan State University Student Council Refuses to Participate in Illegal Process of Board Formation
The Student Council of Yerevan State University has issued a statement declaring that it refuses to participate in the process of forming the Board of Trustees, deeming it illegal.
In its announcement, the Student Council stated:
“The Student Council of Yerevan State University, reaffirming its conviction regarding the unconstitutional and illegal actions of the authorized body aimed at the implementation of government decision 704-N dated May 4, 2021 (hereinafter also referred to as the decision), which has been expressed by the YSU Scientific Council's statement dated May 6, takes into account the fact that this decision has been challenged in the Constitutional Court by the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia based on an application from the YSU Scientific Council, as well as the illegality of the process established by the decision due to the absence of grounds for the termination of the powers of current members of the YSU Board of Trustees, refuses to participate in the illegal process of forming the YSU Board of Trustees based on the mentioned decision.”
