State is Destroyed in One Case and Constructed in Another Due to These Polarized Approaches: Hasratyan

It is incredible how a country that took 30 years to build could be nearly destroyed in just three years, although this happened due to a mix of objective and subjective circumstances. On the other hand, it is a consequence of our citizens interpreting democracy more as a right than a responsibility, influenced by the populist chaos. This was written by Senor Hasratyan, the former spokesperson for the Artsakh Defense Army, on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted, “In a genuinely democratic environment, before demanding anything, citizens are obliged to create what they expect to receive... Yet we have ignored this golden rule of civilization and continue to do so... As a result, we find ourselves in the tangled situation we are in today.”

He added, “Three years ago, the main populist of the country promised to give the lost people everything that came to their minds to seize power... Contrary to this, a realistic leader states, ‘Those who do not want to work, I will ask them from the outset not to vote for me...’ It is due to these polarized approaches that in one case the state is destroyed, and in another case, it is constructed.”
