Serzh Sargsyan's Office Responds to Levon Ter-Petrosyan's Proposal
The office of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has responded to the proposal made by the first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan to jointly participate in the upcoming elections, stating that a decision on the format for participation has already been made and published. This was announced on the official Facebook page of the third President's office.
“Regarding the recent proposal by the first President of Armenia for the joint participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections, we would like to remind that the Republican Party, led by the third President of Armenia, has just days ago made and published its decision regarding participation in the elections, as well as the format,” the statement reads.
Levon Ter-Petrosyan suggested that the second President Robert Kocharyan and the third President Serzh Sargsyan participate in the snap elections under a coalition named the “National Accord Alliance.”
The office of the second President Robert Kocharyan also responded to Levon Ter-Petrosyan's proposal to join the early parliamentary elections, indicating that a different format of participation has already been chosen.
The Republican Party of Armenia has announced that it will participate in the snap parliamentary elections in a coalition with the “Homeland” party.
