Are 10 Iranian Generals Arrived in Armenia?

According to sources at Zvartnots Airport, senior military officials from Iran have arrived in Armenia. Eyewitnesses reported to ArmLur.am that approximately 10 high-ranking military officials have flown from Tehran to Yerevan.

Most likely, the arrival of the generals in Yerevan is connected to the heightened tension along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. It is difficult to determine the specific purpose of their visit or what proposals they may present, but it is evident that the current geopolitical tension in the region is also concerning Iran.

Recently, Mojtaba Zolnouri, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, commented on the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the incidents of Azerbaijani armed forces incursion into Armenian territory. He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not accept any changes in the region and that the territorial integrity of regional countries must be preserved.

“If they wish to take part of Armenian territory, and our borders are altered, meaning we have a new neighbor, that is unacceptable to us. The borders of the past must be fully protected, and the overall boundary of the Islamic Republic of Iran with Armenia must be preserved,” Mojtaba Zolnouri declared.
