Shooting Reported in Artsakh's Taghavard Village

Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire towards the village of Taghavard in the Republic of Artsakh. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the deputy community head, Sevak Khachaturyan.

“They were shooting from the Azerbaijani position located in front of the village,” Khachaturyan stated. According to him, there were no casualties or injuries, and the villagers have yet to determine where the bullet landed.

The gunfire occurred this morning between 09:00 and 10:00 AM, with several shots being fired. Currently, there is relative calm in the village, but the situation continues to concern the residents of Taghavard.

It is noteworthy that almost simultaneously, a movement of a column of numerous Azerbaijani vehicles was recorded in the area of the nearby village of Karmir Shuka, traveling along the main road to Shushi. This has alarmed the villagers, who have approached Russian peacekeepers regarding the presence of Azerbaijani vehicles in their area.

As community head Narek Atayan mentioned in an interview with Sputnik Armenia, the tension is solely due to the behavior of the Azerbaijanis. “We spoke with the peacekeepers, asking them to once again warn the Azerbaijanis to restrain themselves a bit and pass through calmly, for example, not to shoot,” Atayan said.
