Russia Calls for Border Demarcation Process to Avoid Incidents on Armenia-Azerbaijan Border
To avoid incidents on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, it is essential to initiate a border demarcation process. This was stated in a recent announcement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The statement emphasizes that Russia is closely monitoring the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and is maintaining operational communication with military and border guard services.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is prepared to assist Yerevan and Baku in the process of border demarcation, including providing cartographic materials and advisory services.
"We base our stance on the belief that all such incidents should be resolved exclusively through peaceful negotiations. A long-term solution could be the launch of the demarcation process of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, followed by border delimitation," the statement noted. The Russian Federation is ready to continue supporting the stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus in every possible way.
Additionally, it is mentioned that the Russian side is providing support to both Yerevan and Baku in efforts to de-escalate tensions.
