Rescue Teams Retrieve Body of 55-Year-Old Man from Water Drain Near Military Police
A tragic incident occurred in Yerevan on May 17. At around 10:15 PM, the Emergency Situations Ministry's 911 operational management center received a call reporting that a citizen had fallen into a water drain in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative area, behind the Armenian Ministry of Defense's Military Police.
According to Shamshyan.com from the scene, rescuers, along with officers from the Shengavit and Malatya police departments, found the body of 55-year-old Gagik Darbinyan, a resident of Yerevan, approximately 250 meters downstream from the location where the citizen fell.
After the rescuers retrieved the body, doctors confirmed the man's death. Preliminary reports indicate that the drowned man had visited the site with two friends when the tragic event took place. The investigative department is preparing materials regarding the incident, and police and investigators are working to identify others who were with the man at the time.
