Gagik Beglaryan Released on 50 Million Dram Bail
The former Minister of Transport and Communications, Gagik Beglaryan, who was discovered and taken to the NSS isolation facility yesterday, has been released.
“Using his official position, Gagik Beglaryan was charged with crimes under Article 308, Part 2, and Article 179, Part 3, Item 1 of the RA Criminal Code for misappropriation of property in especially large amounts and for using his official position against the interests of the service, causing serious consequences. On May 17 of this year, Gagik Beglaryan, who was wanted by law enforcement, arrived in Armenia on a Moscow-Yerevan flight, voluntarily presented himself to the investigative authority conducting the criminal proceedings. Additionally, a deposit equivalent to the damage caused to the state was made in accordance with the charges by the RA prosecution authority.
Taking into account these circumstances, the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the pre-trial investigation decided to replace the detention measure against the accused Gagik Beglaryan with a bail set at 50,000,000 (fifty million) Armenian drams,” the RA Prosecutor General’s Office told Aysor.am.
