Gagik Beglaryan Arrives in Armenia to Attend His Brother's Funeral

Former Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan arrived in Armenia to attend the funeral of his brother, Yuri Beglaryan. However, law enforcement officials detained him immediately after the plane's arrival, preventing him from participating in the funeral ceremony.

This was reported by pastinfo.am. Gagik Beglaryan was reported to be a suspect and put on the wanted list about a year ago. According to the National Security Service (NSS) statement, Beglaryan allegedly abused his official position for personal gain, appropriating significant real estate worth 233,470,000 AMD, specifically a kindergarten located on Tamanian Street in Yerevan.

On May 17, after arriving on a Moscow-Yerevan flight, Beglaryan was immediately detained.
