Erdogan's Statements Received Negatively in Israel and Palestine: Details

Artyom Chernamoryan, the head of the Nairi organization of Israeli Armenians, has commented on Turkey's statements regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in an interview with Ermenihaber.am. Chernamoryan is also the editor-in-chief of the ‘Israeli Armenians’ newspaper and an accredited journalist in Israel.

According to Chernamoryan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statements have been received very negatively in both Israel and Palestine. The Palestinians have stated, 'Armenians are our friends, and do not compare the Palestinian-Israeli conflict with the Artsakh conflict. We are not ready to accept Turkish assistance.'

'This message was unequivocal,' Chernamoryan emphasized, 'because the hegemonic state in this region is Egypt, and it will never allow Turkey to meddle in the Arab-Israeli conflict.'

Another point that the head of the Nairi organization highlights is that Turkey is financing NGOs in East Jerusalem, and Turkish flags can already be seen on many buildings. 'The fact remains that in those areas populated by Palestinians, Turkey operates at the level of civil organizations,' noted Chernamoryan.

It is worth recalling that Erdogan condemned Israel's military actions against Palestinian Arabs. Expressing solidarity with Palestine, the Turkish president declared that they are fully prepared to provide Palestine with the same assistance they had given to Azerbaijan in the case of Nagorno-Karabakh.

'The attacks in Jerusalem are not only an issue for the people there but for all Muslims, including those revolving around the Kaaba (House of God) in Mecca, and those representing the Prophet in Medina. These attacks are a concern for every Muslim living in Istanbul, Diyarbakır, Baghdad, Cairo, Islamabad, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Baku, and Sarajevo.'
