Conflicting Reports from Taghavard: The Village is Divided, Shots Were Fired from Their Side
Shots have been heard in the Taghavard village of Artsakh. The community leader, Oleg Harutyunyan, spoke with "Factinfo" and stated that the shots were not directed at the village.
“The shots were fired away from our village. The Turks fired in their territory, not at us. There is some kind of beast passing by there, and they shoot again. Today, there were no shots fired towards our people,” he said.
It should be noted that part of the Taghavard community in the Martuni region has been divided since the war; one part is under Armenian control, while the other is under Azerbaijani control. Over 100 houses remain on the Azerbaijani side.
Harutyunyan assures that the shots were from the Azerbaijani side. “Part of our village is the end of Azerbaijan. The village is divided, under the control of Azerbaijan, where they stay, and there they shot. One shot was fired, far away, in their controlled territory, there were no shots fired towards our village. I am currently in the village, at the village administration,” said the village head.
Earlier, reports emerged that Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire towards the Taghavard village of Artsakh from an Azerbaijani position located in front of the village. The shots were heard in the morning, around 09:00-10:00.
