Tomorrow is International Museum Day: Communities Join the 'Museum Night' Program

This year, International Museum Day and the 'Museum Night' event will be celebrated on the same day, May 18, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will take place under the theme 'The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine,' offering museums and communities the chance to create, envision, and share new experiences of value creation, innovative business models for cultural institutions, and solutions to ongoing social, economic, and environmental challenges.

On May 18, the following events are planned at museums under the jurisdiction of the Yerevan City Municipality:

Yerevan History Museum
- 20:00: Exhibition titled '44 Days...' aimed at redefining patriotism as a leading direction of national education in the 21st-century museum.
- 11:00-22:00: Interactive event, 'Chosen by the Visitor.'

Archaeological Reserve-Museum 'Erebuni'
- 13:00: 'Let’s Dig Together' event at 'Erebuni' archaeological reserve-museum.
- 11:00: 'Let’s Dig Together' event at the 'Shengavit' branch.
- 15:00: Pottery master class at the 'Shengavit' branch.
- 12:30: Archery master class at the 'Red Hill' branch.
- 17:00: Exhibition for visually impaired individuals featuring replicas of archaeological artifacts stored in the 'Erebuni' museum along with braille texts.

Contemporary Art Museum
- 12:00-22:00: Individual exhibition by Armenuhi Martirosyan titled 'What, 2nd.'
- 14:00: Meet and talk with the artist Armenuhi Martirosyan on the topic of 'Psychology of Color.'
- 18:00: 'Self-Isolation in Art' - a small performance by the Mihr Theatre.
- 20:00-22:00: Concert of classical music featuring soloists from the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet's 'Youth Opera Program.'

Karen Demirchyan Museum
- 12:00-22:00: 'In Our Soviet Yard' interactive exhibition-event.

Fridtjof Nansen Museum
- 15:00: Outdoor event 'Fridtjof Nansen: Pioneer of Humanitarianism.'

Entry to all the museums will be free.
