Residents of Vardenis Report that Azerbaijanis Have Taken Armenian Positions: Hraparak

Recently, Hraparak.am reported that there were indications of Azerbaijanis taking Armenian positions in the region of Vardenis today. We attempted to verify this information with the mayor of Verin Shorzha, but he stated that he was unaware of the situation and advised us to seek clarification from the Ministry of Defense.

The news outlet reached out to independent MP Taguhi Tovmasyan, who responded to our question regarding the accuracy of the reports that Azerbaijanis have taken Armenian positions: “I continue to receive concerning information from the border, and I am awaiting official explanations.”

This information has been confirmed by a resident of Vardenis, who is a military officer. He stated that Azerbaijanis have advanced, placing our position behind them, but he does not have further information from the soldiers.

The website has attempted to obtain clarification from the mayor of Vardenis, the Ministry of Defense, and the General Staff, but all parties either disconnected their phones or did not respond to calls.
