President Signs Law Granting Amnesty to Those Who Dodged Military Service

On May 17, the President of the Republic signed a law on declaring amnesty for individuals who have evaded conscription from the regular military or alternative service.

According to the law, amnesty is granted to male citizens who have reached the age of 27 at the time the law comes into effect and who have dodged mandatory military or alternative service from the regular conscription, as well as those suspected, charged, or convicted of committing an offense defined by the first or third parts of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia regarding evading conscription.
