Fatal Accident on Yerevan-Sevan Highway

Today, May 17, a significant and tragic road accident occurred in the Kotayk region. At around 06:40, a Nissan Maxima vehicle exited the roadway while traveling towards Sevan on the 13th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, crashed into metal barriers, and partially entered the opposing traffic lane.

According to reports from the scene by shamshyan.com, one person has died on the spot, while three others have been injured and transported to medical centers. One was taken to Abovyan Hospital, another to Yerevan's No. 1 University Hospital, and the third to the St. Astvatsatsin Medical Center.

Emergency services, including the Abovyan fire and rescue team with one combat unit, arrived at the scene. A specialized rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations also responded with one combat unit. Rescuers removed the driver's body from the vehicle and brought it closer to Abovyan's ambulance.
