Details on Russian-Azerbaijani Negotiations in Syunik
Hraparak.am has obtained exclusive details regarding the Russian-Azerbaijani negotiations in Syunik and the agreements reached. According to the information we received, the Azerbaijanis will remain within Armenian territory, approximately 2 kilometers inward from the border, where both Azerbaijanis and Armenians will have four positions each.
The military service in these positions will be carried out by regular army personnel, armed only with light firearms. Our source stated that these negotiations were conducted exclusively by the Russians, led by Muradov. The negotiations were quite challenging, with the Azerbaijanis demanding more, but the Russians firmly rejected these demands and clearly indicated that what was achieved was already a significant concession.
It should be noted that on May 12, Azerbaijani armed forces crossed the state border of the Republic of Armenia and advanced into Syunik by as much as 3.5 kilometers, encircling Lake Sevan. There had also been advancements by the enemy in the Vardenis area, but there are currently no details related to the Gegharkunik region.
Incidentally, negotiations will resume in two days, possibly addressing the advancements in the Vardenis region. This cannot be called a victory; if they advance three kilometers after each incursion and then withdraw one kilometer, our country gains nothing.
