The Russian Side is Working Intensively for a Prompt Resolution of the Issue: Patrushev to Armen Grigoryan
A telephone conversation took place between the Secretaries of the Security Councils, Armen Grigoryan and Nikolai Patrushev. The press service of the Security Council reports that the key topic of the conversation was the situation created at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. The parties exchanged views and discussed possible solutions to the issue.
At the beginning of the phone call, Armen Grigoryan presented the current situation, emphasizing that Armenia views it as Azerbaijan's encroachment on the sovereign territory of Armenia, which is unacceptable for the country. Therefore, Azerbaijani armed units must leave these territories and return to their initial positions.
In his remarks, Secretary Grigoryan also emphasized that the Azerbaijani side's claims are unfounded and that there are still maps remaining from the Soviet era that substantiate the Armenian identity of these territories.
Speaking about Armenia's appeal to the CSTO, Armen Grigoryan also highlighted the need to activate necessary mechanisms within the CSTO framework for a prompt resolution of the issue.
In turn, Nikolai Patrushev praised the restraint of the Armenian side in this matter, emphasizing the importance of making all possible diplomatic efforts for its resolution, adding that the Russian side is working intensively at all levels for a prompt resolution of the issue.
