Negotiations to Access the Black Lake Area Resume: Menua Hovsepyan

Negotiations with the Azerbaijani side regarding access to the Black Lake area have resumed. Menua Hovsepyan, the Deputy Mayor of Goris, stated this in an interview with 24News.

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani forces had advanced several kilometers into the area known as Black Lake and have refused to withdraw thus far. The Armenian side had conducted negotiations on May 13 aimed at returning the Azerbaijanis to their initial positions. Those talks concluded late in the evening, but the Azerbaijani side did not return to their original positions.

Hovsepyan noted that previous negotiations had not yielded results: “If the Turk has not moved back, then there has been no result.” We also attempted to ascertain who was participating in the negotiations on the Armenian side, but he noted that he could not provide specifics, only that military personnel are involved in the discussions.
