Letters Sent on Behalf of Pashinyan to CSTO Council Members: Ara Aivazyan

On May 14, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazyan held a telephone conversation with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

The interlocutors continued discussions regarding the situation on the Armenian state border that has developed since May 12 and the steps being taken to resolve the situation.

Acting Minister Ara Aivazyan informed CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas that letters had been sent on behalf of the acting Prime Minister of Armenia to the President of Tajikistan, who presides over the Collective Security Council of the CSTO, and to the Council members, requesting the initiation of the consultation procedures stipulated in Article 2 of the Treaty on Collective Security.

The two exchanged views on the further processes provided for by the procedures.
