Gas Price Reduction for Agriculture Sector Under Discussion
The Ministry of Economy is discussing the reduction of gas prices for processing companies in the agricultural sector. The issue was raised following a meeting between Minister Vahan Kerobyan and representatives of several fruit and vegetable processing companies.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that the gas price significantly affects the cost structure, and a proposal was made to review and lower the price for processors. Producers also expressed concerns regarding the VAT on agricultural product sales, noting that revisiting this issue would greatly enhance the competitiveness of local products in the market.
Vahan Kerobyan informed the business operators that the government is taking steps to review the tax policy. The entrepreneurs also suggested that the program for subsidizing interest rates on loans provided to the agro-processing sector for procurement purposes be reviewed and simplified as much as possible.
