Azerbaijani Forces Crossed the Border Near Kut Village, Shepherds Forced to Downsize Livestock

Azerbaijani forces crossed the Armenian state border near Kut village in the Gegharkunik region just two days ago, on May 12. This was stated by the village's administrative head, Sima Chitchyan, in an interview with NEWS.am on May 14.

When asked how far the adversary had advanced, the village head found it difficult to give a precise answer, emphasizing that they were stationed along the border. "It is 4.5 kilometers from Kut to there. I cannot say if their forces are large or not. They cross the mountain, come, sit down, and lie down. Where they are now, that was our grazing land, where our residents used to graze their livestock. On the first day, our shepherds were told, 'This is not your territory, go away,' and due to fear and confusion, they downsized their livestock, and they are still grazing in nearby areas," reported the village administrative head.

Sima Chitchyan also mentioned that the regional governor, Gnel Sanosyan, was in Kut earlier. The village head is not aware of the results of the negotiations. The fact is that Azerbaijani forces have not left Armenian territory.

Chitchyan assured that there are no panic-stricken sentiments in the village, and everything is under the control of the Armenian Armed Forces.
