Army Chief Artak Davtyan Must Be Held Accountable for Loss of Armenia's Border Security, MP Says

There is obviously no defense. Even the Prime Minister says that without a shot being fired, we have advanced 3.5 kilometers. This means we have neither the appropriate equipment nor the capability to resist, or we simply don’t want to. This is the most crucial question: why?

During a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly, MP Taguhi Tovmasyan stated that it is imperative to convene an extraordinary session of the National Assembly to discuss the situation at the border and invite the relevant authorities to provide explanations.

The MP emphasized that official bodies must clearly answer a series of questions. According to her, the Chief of the General Staff must bear responsibility for the loss of Armenia's border security and inviolability.

“Is this security? We wake up in the morning and see that the Azerbaijanis have come a little further, and we can't do anything about it. I will be relentless. Irresponsibility cannot continue forever. We cannot justify ourselves by saying that we are in a post-war situation. Six months have passed—what does digging trenches have to do with a post-war state? Do we not have a tractor or a driver?” she said.
