Organized a Fake Car Accident
The Investigation Committee of the Lori Region has revealed that on March 25, 2019, around 23:30, the participants of a car accident on Nersisyan Street in Vanadzor, lacking mandatory auto insurance, decided to sign relevant insurance contracts on the same day and then return to the accident site to organize a fake car accident.
According to the investigators, one of the drivers, a 33-year-old man, informed an employee of the insurance company about the absence of insurance contracts, who then assisted in concluding the relevant agreements. On March 29, 2019, they orchestrated the fake car accident involving themselves at the mentioned site, after which the owner of one of the vehicles called the insurance company employee, who took the necessary actions and submitted a compensation application to the company.
It was also revealed that the same man, on May 8, 2020, around 21:00, while under the influence of alcohol, argued with one of the residents in a yard of a building on Yerevanian Avenue in the same city, physically assaulted him, showing open contempt for society. A month later, the same man argued with his wife over domestic issues, during which he intentionally inflicted physical pain on her.
Based on sufficient evidence, the 33-year-old man has been charged with fraud, inciting the creation of false documents, hooliganism, and assault. The vehicle owner has been charged with organizing fraud and document forgery, while the employee of the insurance company has been charged with assisting in fraud. They have all been placed under signatures not to leave.
